What Does Success Look Like To You?

Feb 17, 2020

What does success look like to you? I ask you this question because especially in the beginning of the year, it is very easy to get caught up with chasing somebody else's version of success.

We see all our mentors and people that we admire on Instagram sharing their best life and we think that's what we need to be aspiring for but is it what truly lights you up? I'm creating this video because today I really want you to check in with yourself about the things you are aiming for in 2020. Are you achieving things that really light you up, that really mean something to you? Are you working on what matters in your business or are you chasing somebody else's dream? I know that this can be a problem in entrepreneurship because we're always looking ahead and I have to say embarrassingly I looked back at some of my vision boards that I created when I very first started in business and oh my was my ego in control.

I was after designer clothes, flashy cars, big houses. None of that stuff means anything to me. I already have a beautiful house. I have a car that works and I don't care about designer clothes. I was trying to achieve all of that because in my view, that was what success was, but it didn't mean anything to me.

So when I was working long hours in my business trying to achieve this perfect version of success, it was only because I was trying to prove myself as successful to others. I wanted to be able to share stuff on social media that said look at me, I'm so amazingly successful, look at my flashy car. Oh my gosh, ridiculous now I look back at it, but that's where I was and that's where I see so many of you. So many of my clients come to me saying, I need to achieve this, that, and the other, because that's what success means.

I need a six figure income. I need a seven figure income. I need an office. I need a team. That's all amazing and if that's what you truly want for your business, great, I will help you get there. But if what really lights you up is being able to work closely with a handful of clients and do great work, then I can help you with that too.

You don't necessarily need to be chasing what is Instagram worthy. What success means to you is perfect. So what I invite you to do today is look back at what you're actually aiming for. What goals have you set for yourself this year? Do they mean something to you? Are you going to be working on what matters for you and your business? If not, it's time to review them. So have you found that useful? If you want to run by any ideas, hit me up in the Instagram DM’s, I would love to talk with you.
